Told you so!

That’s all I can say in regards to the special investigation of the Penn State scandal which states Hall of Fame coach Joe Paterno and other senior officials “concealed critical facts” about Jerry Sandusky’s child abuse so as to avoid bad publicity. I knew it….I knew it….I knew it. Yet when I said this last year….I was chastised by Penn State fans who said I was jumping the gun. Jumping the gun? The grand jury testimony was there for all to see…. I wasn’t “jumping the gun”…..I was simply using common sense. Let’s face it…the most powerful man on campus…the guy who called all the shots….didn’t know this was going on with his top assistant after all the signs and warnings? C’mon…even Forrest Gump could have read the writing on Penn State’s wall!

So now what? Death penalty for the football program? Seems harsh to kill a program and punish it’s players and fans when they had nothing to do with this. Jail time for those still alive who covered it up? Absolutely. Child molestation is worse than murder in my eyes because you’re killing the kid internally…leaving him to live a life of despair due to the fact they never get over what was done to them. Death…at least…is an escape from the mental torture that plagues these kids the rest of their lives.

As for Paterno? Take his name off every building…every scholarship…anything and everything he’s ever laid a finger on. This university was literally built by JoePa through his football program….therefore his likeness and name needs to be removed from it so the healing can begin. The winningest coach in college football history allowed young boys to be sexually assaulted right under his watchful eye. Disgraceful. And coming from a father with 3 young boys….all I can say is this: I hope that those who knew something or hid it from authorities receive the justice they deserve…
