Police are still searching for a suspect who beat a victim with a hammer. Homer Baker is accused of hitting Cody Wood in the face and head multiple times in Moundsville. Baker is from Powhatan and is also wanted on a warrant for a separate incident. The assault on Wood happened on Friday on Pearl Street in Moundsville. Wood has been treated and released from a local hospital. Deputies pulled Baker over on Friday near Dilles Bottom, Ohio, but said he fled on foot.
