Our news partner WTOV9.COM reports - in February, a jury found Belmont County Commissioner Matt Coffland and his son, Matthew Coffland, guilty of one misdemeanor count of obstruction. The conviction stemmed from an incident at the Tiger Pub in Shadyside in April 2012.
On Tuesday, Monroe County Judge James Peters ordered that both men pay a $250 fine and do community service. The judge suspended three days of jail time.
Also on Tuesday, the commissioner’s son Matthew Coffland changed his plea on a disorderly conduct charge to guilty. His sentence of 10 days of jail times was suspended, and he was ordered to pay a $200 fine.
The commissioner was acquitted in October of assaulting a peace officer during incidents at last year's Jamboree In The Hills.
