Attorneys discussed on Monday where things stand in a pretrial hearing involving a man accused of killing an elderly Bellaire woman.
WTOV9.COM reports Judge Jennifer Sargus heard updates about evidence in the case against murder suspect Brandon Michael Phelps. Phelps and his co-defendant, Devin Wayne Fuller, both of Bellaire, are accused of killing 92-year-old Lydia Ashworth in June 2012 at her home on
Phelps, who is also from Bellaire, is charged with several counts of aggravated murder, aggravated burglary and burglary. His trial is set to begin on Jan. 22, 2014.
Fuller remains in jail on a $1 million bond, and is scheduled to appear in court again July 12 for another pretrial hearing. Fuller’s trial is tentatively set to start in early 2014 as well.
