A proliferation of campers and trailers resulting from a drilling boom has prompted Moundsville to impose limits on these sites.
An ordinance recently approved by City Council requires camper and trailer sites to be at least 1 acre. The ordinance also requires the sites to obtain a license from the city for a $10 fee.
The sites provide housing for oil and gas workers.
Mayor Gene Saunders tells media outlets that the ordinance will enable the city to police the sites to ensure they're following regulations and health standards.
