The Wheeling Suspension Bridge remains closed after a support cable snaps. 

Officials with the West Virginia Department of Highways closed the span Saturday afternoon when a cable on the downtown Wheeling side of the span broke. 

Right now, it’s unclear when the suspension bridge will re-open or how long the repairs will take. 

Officials say the cable that broke is not a load bearing cable.
