Blasting work is underway along a portion of the hillside above State Route 7 near Rush Run in
Officials say daily blasting operations will cause some minor traffic delays between 4 and 5 p.m. each day.
The work is part of the $22 million dollar landslide repair project.
Weather permitting, both north and southbound traffic will be stopped daily for approximately 10 minutes while blasting occurs. Motorists should plan ahead to avoid delays during this hour.
Only one blast will occur per day.
Crews are working 24-hours a day, six days a week, Monday through Saturday, throughout the conclusion of the job.
SR 7 has been reduced to one lane in each direction on the northbound side of the highway between Rayland and Brilliant, since a major landslide occurred in March 2011.
All major work is expected to be completed this fall; however, some cleanup work may be required in 2014.
