A Virginia woman charged with embezzling $1.2 million in horse racing funds from a local casino and racetrack wants her February trial delayed.

Anita Ambler of Virginia., filed a motion with U.S. District Court in Wheeling for a postponement Monday. She's charged with 21 counts of mail fraud, 15 counts of wire fraud and six counts of using criminal proceeds for a transaction.

The thefts from Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort in Chester occurred between 2005 and 2010. They weren't discovered until Ambler quit and an audit was conducted.

Public defender Brendan Leary says he needs more time to locate and interview witnesses, including former Mountaineer employees. Leary says finding them is a challenge. He also says Amber is still awaiting access to some of the government's evidence.
