Police tell NEWS 9 John Marshall High School Principal Corey Murphy and Director of Special Education Shelby Haines were driving in
Police say witnesses reported a female was driving, but when police caught up with the car parked down the road, a man was behind the wheel.
Haines was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and fleeing the scene, while Murphy is facing a charge of failure to provide a license.
During processing, both were said to be very difficult with police and dropped several names – one of which was Magistrate Patricia Murphy.
Police say because Haines was too drunk to be arraigned, Murphy asked that she be released into her custody, which police say is a very rare request.
Police further say that Patricia Murphy asked that her name be left out of the police report.
