Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce Appoints Justin Seibert to Wheeling Park Commission

WHEELING, W.Va. - On Wednesday, the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors appointed Justin Seibert to the Wheeling Park Commission. Mr. Seibert will take the seat of Wilbur S. Jones, Jr., whose term ends February 28 after 41-plus years of service on the commission.

“Justin Seibert has shown a commitment to Wheeling, he has invested, created jobs and built a successful business,” said Erikka Storch, President of the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce. “His business expertise and digital analytical skills will be an asset for the Park Commission. Our board has confidence in Justin Seibert and we believe he will be an excellent addition to the commission.”

Justin Seibert founded Direct Online Marketing in 2006 and serves as its president. Seibert was named a top 25 most influential PPC expert, he has worked diligently to build a team of online marketing professionals.

“Thank you, I appreciate the confidence that the Wheeling Area Chamber has shown in me and am honored by the opportunity,” Seibert said. “Our Parks System of Wheeling Park and Oglebay Resort are the crown jewels of our community, I look forward to working to grow and manage this important asset.”

The Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce also voted on and passed a resolution thanking Mr. Wilbur S. Jones Jr, for his over 41 years of service on the Wheeling Park Commission as an appointee of the Chamber.

The Wheeling Park Commission, a West Virginia corporation, was created by an act of the West Virginia legislature on March 5, 1935, for the purpose of managing the parks of the city of Wheeling. The state statute provides that the commission shall have “all and sole power necessary, convenient, and advisable for the proper care, equipment, and management of the parks” and “shall make such rules and regulations as it deems expedient for the care and management of the parks.”

The commission consists of five citizens who serve without compensation. Members of the commission are appointed by either the Board of Directors of the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce or by the City Manager and serve five-year terms with no limit on reappointments.

Seibert will join, R. Gregory “Greg” McDermott, Sue Farnsworth, Joan Stamp, and David H. McKinley on the commission.
